Leon is an Idaho boy born in Jerome however, he grew up in Wells, Nevada. There he attended public schools and worked odd and end jobs. Following high school, he attended various universities, eventually graduating with a Bachelor's Degree in Education, and a Master's Degree in Education Administration. Retiring from education in 2008. He was a college adjunct professor for an additional eight years for Stevens-Henager College in Boise/Nampa Campuses.
Leon and his wife have been married for 50+ years. In their lifetime they have built two houses in Montana and had a home built for them here in Nampa. Leon has taught and coached all kinds of athletics, which includes; basketball, track and field, and cross country. His interests include; gardening, hunting, fishing, camping, and watching college and professional sports. Additionally, he remains active with the family and visiting with his children and grandchildren whenever possible.
Military service in the Army lasted nearly ten years, leaving to pursue a steady career in education. Military service includes automatic weapons crewmember and battery clerk, and rank of SP4.
